Openings:
Openings exist in all metropolitan areas of New York State and in Chicago, Illinois.
An appointment to this Trainee position will lead to advancement after two years to the journey level Tax Auditor 1 title.
Duties:
Duties involve field audits of taxpayers' financial records, to verify compliance with New York tax laws and regulations; extensive travel is involved.
Minimum Qualifications:
You must have (or be within ten months of receiving) a bachelors' degree, including or supplemented by 24 semester credit hours in accounting or auditing, to apply for this examination. Up to six credit hours in related course work (taxation, finance, economics, money and banking or business) may be applied to meet the course work requirement. There is no written test for this examination. Instead, you must apply using the special application form which will be used to evaluate your education and experience.
