Classification Specification
Office Services Manager plans, coordinates, directs and reviews centralized office services functions in a large department: formulates and recommends policies, plans and procedures regarding the procurement and maintenance of all items; directs printing and reproduction, mail and supply, telephone, and centralized stenographic services; supervises operation of departmental records management program; assists in the preparation of the departments maintenance and operation budget; is responsible for maintaining performance standards and effective operations; directs and supervises the survey, acquisition, and maintenance of building space and office equipment; assists in solving procurement, space and layout requirements; develops and maintains purchasing policies and directs the preparation and execution of revenue and expenditure contracts; maintains schedule and control of data processing and office machine rentals; maintains inventories of all equipment and supplies used by the department; establishes policies and procedures for the operation and control of automobiles and trucks used by the department; represents the department at meetings with the Office of the State Comptroller and the Office of General Services. QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service in a clerical or account clerical position allocated to Grade 18 or higher.
