We will soon mail the enclosed publication to retirees and dependent survivors enrolled in the Empire Plan:
Special Report for Participating Agency Retirees and Dependent Survivors enrolled in the Empire Plan: The Empire Plan and Medicare Risk HMOs
This is a 4-page report for retirees and dependent survivors who are enrolled in the Empire Plan. It explains what happens when a Medicare-primary Empire Plan enrollee also joins a Medicare Risk HMO. The HMO coverage replaces the traditional Medicare coverage and drastically reduces or eliminates Empire Plan benefits.
Distribution
This Special Report will be mailed to retiree homes on November 20. We will send you a supply equal to 10 percent of your active enrollment. Please add the report to the retiree packages you give to employees when they retire.
