Proposal Information

Description:

The Legal Unit operates during the normal business hours of the Office of Victim Services (OVS) (9 am to 5 pm). Requesting 9-12 hours a week, in no less than 3 hour blocks preferred.
Substantive work may include, but is not limited to: ad-hoc legislative and legal research, contact with District Attorney and Probation Offices regarding collection of restitution, contact with private attorneys regarding civil lawsuits and recoveries, redacting personal information from file copy, preparation of lien waiver requests, prepartion of file summaries in anticipation of appeal hearings.
Other daily tasks may include, but would not be limited to: copying, filing, preparing mailing, responding to provider inquiries about FRE payments, and answering the phones.
