If selected, you will be a member of the Office of Information Technology Services- Enterprise Business Solutions - Information Security Office (EBS ISO). The EBS Cluster's primary function is to implement and support enterprise business applications that span across multiple agencies. EBS includes NY Business Express (NYBE) & E-Licensing, Grants Gateway & Reform, Mobile Channel & Cloud Application Development Services, Statewide Contact Centers, Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), State Liquor Authority (SLA), and the Department of State (DOS). As a member of the EBS ISO, the candidate will support all of these areas in implementing business solutions while ensuring security and compliance. This internship will provide the candidate the opportunity to participate in the various roles and job duties performed by the EBS ISO team. The goal will be for this to be a learning experience for the candidate while providing the opportunity for the candidate to meaningfully contribute to the team.
The candidate's job duties will include assisting with:
* Determining information classification ratings and documenting.
* Completing asset inventory, including security information.
* Determining compliance with regulatory standards and security controls.
* Risk management assessments and documentation.
* Reviewing and documenting security opinions on Security Access Requests (SARS).
* Conducting and reviewing vulnerability assessments and following up to resolve results.
* Providing security assistance on IT projects.
* Incident response coordination and documentation
* Researching product security, security best practice, and other general security questions.
