Proposal Information

Description:

Looking for intelligent, quick-thinking and poised individuals to assist us in Division of Planning, Development & Community Infrastructure (OPD&CI) tasks. The Division is in need of someone to help staff develop and expand the geographic information gateway. The gateway is a one stop, state-of-the-art website providing a suite of information and tools. It serves as a valuable resource for New York communities, an educational resource for schools and universities, and a guide for the responsible development of the State's resources.

Duties include: Use agency computers and software (ArcMap, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office software) to digitize Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) boundaries; Brownfield Oppportunity Area (BOA) strategic sites; and related assets; develop case studies, project profiles, and/or videos to educate staff and community stakeholders; provide assistance to staff in maintaining gateway data; conduct basic office functions as needed, such as data entry, file management, and customer service; and assist staff with drafting policy, procedural, or supplemental guidance documents.

You will develop relationships with DOS staff, local government officials and other agency personnel, learn about local government/state relations, and come away with a better understanding of State operations.
