Proposal Information

Description:

Looking for intelligent, quick-thinking and poised individuals to assist us in Division of Planning, Development & Community Infrastructure (OPD&CI) tasks. The Division is in need of someone to support staff in conducting research and drafting language for use in writing Model Local Laws on costal management; brownfield usage; local waterfront revitalization; and related programs, that may be adopted by local governments.

Duties include: research existing model local laws and/or enacted local laws to identify model language and best practices that can be replicated by local governments in New York; write local law templates that can be modified/customized by local governments; and assist staff with drafting policy, procedural, or supplemental guidance documents.

You will develop relationships with DOS staff, local government officials and other agency personnel, learn about local government/state relations, and come away with a better understanding of State operations.
