Description:

NYS DOT is looking for 3 Senior or Junior students studying Computer Science/Hardware Engineering for an unpaid internship this summer.

Several support application systems and services are not currently fully integrated in the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center (HVTMC). For example, monitoring of the power equipment (existing Solar Power controller, UPS and IP PDU) as some central components of HVTMC are not completed. There are several In-house projects defined for these application integrations to the HVTMC Solar Wind system or as an independent central monitoring application.
Students will be involved with In-house projects for configuration, programming of the power and wireless remote monitoring system. These monitoring systems will be programmed and configured to be useable by the HVTMC Operations team.

The work also includes the SNMP integration of the power and wireless device equipment.

Students will learn about several power and wireless management applications. In addition, students will learn about the ITS network and Network Management system (NMS). No hardware design will be expected but integration of existing devices to additional sensors such as temporary or battery monitoring is anticipated.
