The Student Assistant will work with program management to assist in administrating the New York State Farmers' Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program.
What is the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program?
The New York State Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) consists of two programs: the Women, Infants and Children Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) and the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). Those who are eligible for these programs are provided checks to redeem for fresh, local fruits and vegetables at participating farmers' markets and farm stands. Internship Duties:
Duties include registering farmers and markets, maintaining the records in the program database, conducting field work, sending out bulk mailings, processing electronic issuance and redemption files, answering phone and email inquiries, doing inventory, sending over routine updated vendor files to our clearinghouse bank, and other tasks as assigned by the program manager. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community!
This internship is paid $14.02 per hour and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. This internship has the opportunity to extend into the summer- fall months and offer full time hours up to 30 hours per week. Student Assistants may work a part-time schedule during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
