Human Resources Specialist Trainee 1 (Attendance & Leave), G-13
Human Resources Specialists 1 (Attendance and Leave) serve as a subject matter experts in the areas of attendance, leave, and employee relations to various parties, responding to a variety of related inquiries. Employees further will use this expertise to advise and inform labor negotiations, on related issues. These positions are located in the Department of Civil Service.
Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

Bachelor's or higher degree.
Most employees will be appointed to the Trainee 1 job title.
Appointments to this job title require a two-year traineeship that starts at the Trainee 1, G-13, and advances, after one year of acceptable performance, to Trainee 2, G-14. After one year of acceptable performance as a Trainee 2, employees advance to the full performance, G-18, job title described above. No further Civil Service examination is required for advancement from Trainee 1 to Trainee 2, or from Trainee 2 to the full performance job title.
