Human Resources Specialist Trainee 1 (Municipal Assistance), G-13
Human Resources Specialists 1 (Municipal Assistance) manage an account or caseload of a group of municipal Civil Service agencies. Employees provide technical assistance and advice on a wide variety of matters related to administration of the Civil Service Merit System. These positions are located in the Department of Civil Service.
Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.
Bachelor's or higher degree.
Most employees will be appointed to the Trainee 1 job title.
Appointments to this job title require a two-year traineeship that starts at the Trainee 1, G-13, and advances, after one year of acceptable performance, to Trainee 2, G-14. After one year of acceptable performance as a Trainee 2, employees advance to the full performance, G-18, job title described above. No further Civil Service examination is required for advancement from Trainee 1 to Trainee 2, or from Trainee 2 to the full performance job title. Advanced Placement Appointments - For most trainee titles, employees may be able to be appointed directly to the Trainee 2 level or to the full performance title if they meet certain qualifications. This is known as advanced placement and is at the discretion of the hiring agency.
