The State Insurance Fund is a nonprofit, self-supporting insurance carrier which provides employers of the State with workers' compensation and disability benefits coverage at the lowest possible cost.

The Director and Assistant Director of Insurance Fund Field Services plan, direct, and control all sales, policyholder service, and safety activities of the Fund.

These are one-position classes. j

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INSURANCE FUND FIELD SERVICES assists Director of Insurance Fund Field Services in planning, directing, and controlling the sales, policyholder service and safety functions of the State Insurance Fund: assists in directing a large force of field representatives who solicit new business and pro-vide safety and other services to policyholders; assists in planning promotional programs; analyzes needs of present and prospective policyholders and designs plans suited to those needs; analyzes and evaluates State Insurance Fund procedures affecting general services rendered to policyholders; adjusts policyholder complaints referred by field units; instructs field services personnel on the changes in laws, rules and regulations applicable to the obligations and rights of the policyholders; plans and implements training and educational programs for instruction of new field personnel; reviews adequacy of departmental services rendered to large policyholders; responsible for the State Insurance Fund safety incentive program; attends and addresses safety group meetings and serves as liaison with the representatives in other departments/divisions of the State Insurance Fund. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service as a Principal Insurance Fund Field Services Representative or Insurance Fund District Representative. i

DIRECTOR OF INSURANCE FUND FIELD SERVICES plans, directs, and controls all sales, service and safety functions of the State Insurance Fund: is responsible for programs to acquire new policyholders and retain business of Fund policyholders; establishes policies concerning service to various classes of policyholders; meets with unusually large or desirable prospective policyholders or with insurance con-sultants to present plans offered by the State Insurance Fund; plans programs of safety services to policyholders; reviews operation reports to insure conformity with policy and procedures; reviews performance of field service staff and initiates any necessary changes; plans special servicing of risks on which sur-charge premiums are imposed; in effort to retain the policyholder attends and addresses meetings of advisory councils of large and influential policyholders and of safety groups. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of permanent competitive service as Assistant Director of Insurance Fund Field Services.
