Classification Standard

 

 

CHIEF OF ACCIDENT AND HEALTH INSURANCE RATING SECTION, under general direction of a Deputy Superintendent, administers the rate regulatory program for accident and health insurance; supervises employees engaged in the review of premium rates and the experience of insurance companies operating in this field; evaluates requests for changes in premium rates and passes on such requests based on evaluations made by staff; issues special calls for experience under the various types of health insurance and the analysis and interpretation of the data obtained therefrom; drafts appropriate regulations and supervises actuarial studies related to this program; and advises the Superintendent on matters affecting accident and health insurance. QUALIFICATIONS: Fellow in the Society of Actuaries and ten years of responsible actuarial experience in accident and health rating.
