Classification Specification

 

PHOTOGRAPHER 4 under general direction, plans and supervises the extensive photographic work of the Department of Economic Development: schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of the photographic staff; assists in planning photographic coverage of new facilities, travel facilities, news assignments, and historic events; trains subordinates in new and improved methods of photography; selects photographs for news coverage; maintains cooperative relations with photo services and magazines; arranges with commercial and industrial firms for the taking of photographs. QUALIFICATIONS: Promotion: One year of permanent service as a Photographer 3. Open Competitive: Four years of full-time paid experience in commercial photography including taking, developing, printing, editing photos and using and maintaining darkroom equipment of which one year must have been in a supervisory capacity. Two years of study in an approved photography curriculum may be substituted for the non-supervisory experience.
