BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CLASS

 

          Corporate Accounts Manager directs a statewide program to develop and maintain relations with major corporate outlets for the New York State Lottery at the New York State Gaming Commission.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

 

          One-position class; managerial level; under the general direction of the Director Lottery Marketing in the Division of the Lottery, directs and coordinate statewide activities to develop and maintain relations with key account outlets to achieve increased sales and revenues; supervises regional sales staff.

 

RELATED CLASSES

 

          Lottery Advertising Supervisors oversee and manage the day-to-day contract management activities with the agency’s private sector media partners to ensure that implementation of the Lottery’s Statewide advertising program to promote game participation at the New York State Gaming Commission.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES  

 

          Direct corporate account program to sell Lottery products; conduct formal presentations to develop new corporate accounts; communicate with corporate level management, individual store managers and Lottery regional staff to market all phases of program; formulate strategies to address and resolve corporate account issues; monitor corporate account sales; develop cooperative promotions and public relations events; develop lottery sales training programs for corporate account clients; and, supervise Lottery Marketing Specialists and clerical staff.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Open Competitive:  Bachelor’s degree and four years’ experience* either a) supervising a direct sales team with national accounts; b) performing front end retailer merchandising functions for a major corporation with at least 50 locations; or c) a satisfactory combination of the above.  The experience must include: developing, presenting, and implementing tactical/strategic sakes and/or merchandising programs to key corporate account decision makers. *A master’s degree or higher may substitute for one year of experience.
