BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CLASS

 

          Lottery Video Product Manager administers the design and implementation of video gaming operations in the Division of Gaming at the New York State Gaming Commission.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

 

          One-position class; under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Division of Gaming or Lottery Game Director, administers video gaming operations and supervises Lottery Supervising Research Specialist and Program Research Specialist 2.

 

RELATED CLASSES

 

          Director Lottery Games Operations directs statewide Lottery operations at the New York State Gaming Commission.

 

          Lottery Games Directors oversee all day-to-day statewide operations for lottery, online and instant games at the New York State Gaming Commission.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES  

 

          Recommend initial product placement for new locations and relocated or redesigned video gaming casinos; maintain policies for product management, software testing results, promotions, and game development; review and evaluate new themes to ensure compliance with New York State gaming standards; evaluate changes to product mix-placement, signage, payouts, and denominations and look for ways to improve performance; develop performance trend models and develop promotional performance analysis; liaison with casinos and video gaming manufacturers; and perform the full range of supervisory duties of staff.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Open Competitive:

 

Either 1. nine years of experience in lottery or slot gaming operations which includes five years as a director of slot operations with full-time responsibility for the supervision of professional level staff;

 

Or 2. a bachelor's or higher level degree in a business-related field or in information technology AND five years of experience involving product development/marketing or data base management in the lottery or gaming industries.  Two years of the experience must have been supervisory.

 

Substitution:  A master's degree may substitute for one year of the non-supervisory experience.
