BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CLASS
Higher Education Services Regional Marketing Representatives perform a variety of sales and marketing services to promote and support Higher Education Services Corporations (HESC) student loan program to colleges and universities.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
HIGHER EDUCATION SERVICES REGIONAL MARKETING REPRESENTATIVE: market HESC products and services to financial aid directors, bursars, admissions directors, presidents, and other senior officials at colleges, universities, and lenders under general direction from higher level staff. The position does not supervise.
RELATED CLASSES
Higher Education Services Program Analysts administer student financial aid programs. Employees supervise or develop, prepare, and edit publications; deliver training or outreach to client groups; review program compliance; and analyze and interpret laws and regulations.
Business Marketing Program Analysts develop and coordinate marketing programs and plans to support agency activities. This includes conducting research to develop marketing plans, promotional materials, promotional events, internal surveys, industry studies, and analyzing industry issues to ensure implementation of marketing strategies.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
Maintain positive relationships with current and potential clients to increase HESCs market share; conduct research on the characteristics of schools and lenders within their assigned region; develop and implement sales plans; conduct on-site and telephone sales calls to current and potential HESC clients to discuss new HESC products and services or enhancements to existing ones; evaluate, recommend, and implement new products or enhancements to existing HESC products and services based on interaction with current and potential clients; train HESC clients on new products and services or enhancements; ensure follow-up and timely response to technical assistance issues by directly responding to, or monitoring the referral of, such issues to other HESC technical staff; conduct marketing surveys; and represent HESC at conferences and meetings of professional organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Open Competitive: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in a position directly involving outside sales and marketing or the administration of higher education financial aid services, including the appropriate application of regulations, processes and delivery systems; OR Associate's degree and four years of experience in outside sales and marketing or the administration of higher education financial aid services, including the appropriate application of regulations, processes and delivery systems.
