Classification Standard

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CLASS SERIES

Positions in this series assist in the operation of banquets and receptions, clean and maintain the home interior, and provide food and beverage service to residents and guests at the Executive Mansion.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

The positions are classified in the labor class, and work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet Executive Mansion operational needs.

 

          EXECUTIVE MANSION AIDE 1:  entry level; performs food and beverage service; cleans rooms, bathrooms and kitchen; sets up and breaks down banquet and dining events; and maintains and inventories linens, china, and silverware for residents and guests of the Executive Mansion.

 

          EXECUTIVE MANSION AIDE 2:  supervisory level; supervises Executive Mansion Aide 1’s, and performs the same duties under direction of the facility manager.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES

          Executive Mansion Aide 1

Prepares for small, medium or large-scale executive level functions, banquets and receptions; provides food and beverage services; maintains orderly storage, care and inventory of china, linens, silverware, etc., and ensures they are properly maintained; and assists in the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen, dining, bedroom, bathroom pantry areas, and maintains order within the facility.


          Executive Mansion Aide 2

Supervises Executive Mansion Aides 1 assigned to executive level functions or to maintain order and cleanliness of the Executive Mansion, and perform the same duties as Executive Mansion Aides 1.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

          EXECUTVIE MANSION AIDE 1

There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.  When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

 

          EXECUTIVE MANSION AIDE 2

Promotion: one year of service as an Executive Mansion Aide 1. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
