SUBJECT: Section 70.1 Transfer Determinations for G-23, G-25 and M-1 Data

In response to requests from agencies and the Data Processing community for enhanced transfer options for purposes of employee mobility and management flexibility, we will now allow transfers under Section 70.1 CSL among all interdepartmental Data Processing titles at the Grade 23, Grade 25 and M-1 levels.

The affected titles are: Associate Computer Programmer/Analyst, G-23 Supervisor of Data Processing, M-1 Chief Computer Operator, G-23 Supervisor of Data Processing Operations, M-1 Data Base Programmer Analyst 1, G-23 Data Base Programmer Analyst 2, G-25 Computer Systems Programmer 1, G-23 Computer Systems Programmer 2, G-25 Data Communications Specialist 1, G-23 Data Communications Specialist 2, G-25.

The normal requirements for transfer will apply, except that where there is no eligible list for the title to which transfer is sought, the normal one year time in title requirement may be waived.
Agencies should contact Robert Gardner at (518) 457-2444 if additional information is required.

This supersedes the language on Section 70.1 transfers among Data Processing titles in General Information Bulletin No. 85-04, issued 6/19/85
