Confirming Declinations--Eligible Lists

Policy Bulletin #97-04, issued February 7, 1997 (1600 Interviewing and Hiring) on the topic of Telephone Canvasses mentioned a letter which must be used to confirm telephone canvasses for declinations from eligible lists. It was pointed out that one does not exist. Now it does. See enclosed.

This letter should also be used to confirm declinations made at the time of interview. Note that on the back of the letter there are two boxes to check to indicate whom the eligible should contact to reactivate his/her name.

(Master copy enclosed only with copies of this bulletin sent to agency personnel offices.)

[Note: However Policy Bulletin 00-01 in this section provides updated versions of all canvass/confirmation letters.]
