As a Nurse Practitioner you would provide primary health care working in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians. You would assess the physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests. In accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols that include specialty areas and are agreed upon in advance by you and the physician of record, your work may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures. You may also perform employee health examinations in accordance with the practice agreement and practice protocols. In small medical offices, supervision of subordinate staff may be required.
