Job Description
Clinical Laboratory Consultants inspect clinical laboratories, blood banks, tissue banks, physician office laboratories, and other specialized facilities that conduct point of-care testing, to assess if laboratory practices comply with applicable New York State and federal laboratory standards. Incumbents of these positions at the Department of Health conduct on-site inspections, evaluate facility operations for compliance with standards, laws, rules, and regulations; record findings, and investigate violations and reported incidents.

Minimum Qualifications
You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.
Possession of a license and current registration as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York, or license eligibility; AND a bachelor's degree in medical technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science; AND four years of post-bachelor's professional laboratory experience in a blood or tissue bank, or clinical laboratory.
