The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity
Description:
- Conduct research and analysis on a variety of topics related to public safety and security, with an emphasis on those related to terrorism and those which impact the first responder community (Fire, Emergency Medical Services, HazMat, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, etc.).
- Assist in the recognition of trends, risks, vulnerabilities, and consequences, as relates to primarily terrorism, and other disasters and emergencies.
- Support the development and implementation of several outreach initiatives, including New York State's suspicious activity reporting programs, and counter terrorism outreach to target audiences, such as the first responder community.
- Projects may also include updating outreach and incident databases, creating surveys, analyzing data, collecting survey responses, and preparing relevant reports. There will be extensive Excel spreadsheet work- strong analytical capability and the ability to manage data, including proficient use of pivot tables are a requirement.
- Work schedule is fairly flexible, generally between 9-5, Monday - Friday. May have the opportunity to support night and weekend outreach activities.
