All salary grades for trainees titles are non-statutory (NS) equated to the salary grade identified. These grade equations apply to the starting salaries in their respective salary schedule for the traineeship levels.

Job Description

Contract Management Specialists negotiate, develop, prepare, review, implement, process, track and provide fiscal and administrative oversight of contracts. They audit and process contract claims and vouchers; approve and review contract payments to ensure compliance with contract terms; and provide related technical assistance. Some assignments require supervision of subordinate staff.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

Minimum Qualifications

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

A bachelor's or higher degree.

Advanced Placement

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have one year of professional experience managing contracts and related budgets including one or more of the following areas: negotiation with contractors and vendors; fiscal management, including bidding, payment, analysis, and fiscal reporting; contract development, including developing requests for proposals; contract execution, including securing signatory approval from control agencies; monitoring and review of contract terms.

For the Full Performance Level you must also have two years of professional experience managing contracts and related budgets including one or more of the following areas: negotiation with contractors and vendors; fiscal management, including bidding, payment, analysis, and fiscal reporting; contract development, including developing requests for proposals; contract execution, including securing signatory approval from control agencies; monitoring and review of contract terms.
