All salary grades for trainees titles are non-statutory (NS) equated to the salary grade identified. These grade equations apply to the starting salaries in their respective salary schedule for the traineeship levels.

Job Description

Financial Analysts (Workers' Compensation) analyze financial information related to workers compensation and their special fund programs, such as the Special Disability Fund, Fund for Re-opened Cases, Uninsured Employers Fund, Special Disability Fund, Assessment Funds and Self Insurance Group or Individual Programs. They evaluate all aspects of special fund programs including reviewing financial condition, claims management, Third Party Administrator (TPA) performance, collections and issuance of assessments, review security deposits and help manage defaults, and perform cost benefit analysis of any special workers compensation initiatives.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

A bachelor's degree or higher

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2, you must have:

Either 1. a master's or higher degree; OR

2. One year of relevant experience including: performing financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, reserve analysis, cash flow analysis such as revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget variance analysis and industry analysis to determine repayment ability, workers compensation claim payments, medical bill review, and/or preparing reports based on financial and claims information.

For Full Performance Level, you must also have:

Either 1. a master's or higher degree AND one year of relevant experience including: performing financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, reserve analysis, cash flow analysis such as revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget variance analysis and industry analysis to determine repayment ability; OR

2. Two years of relevant experience including: performing financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, reserve analysis, cash flow analysis such as revenue and expenditure forecasting, budget variance analysis and industry analysis to determine repayment ability.
