Job Description

Human Resources Specialists 1 (Testing Engineering) develop tests of knowledge, skills, and abilities within the occupational specialty of engineering to provide appropriate Civil Service Merit System selection measures. Employees analyze jobs, determine appropriate selection measures, develop test plans, prepare test questions, analyze test results, and make recommendations for test scoring and setting of pass points, within the occupational specialty of engineering. Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

A bachelor's or higher degree in agricultural engineering, architectural engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, electrical engineering, engineering science, engineering science in wastewater, environmental engineering, engineering technology, environmental engineering, environmental resource engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources and environmental engineering.

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have:

Either 1. One year of professional experience *; OR

2. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a agricultural engineering, architectural engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, electrical engineering, engineering science, engineering science in wastewater, environmental engineering, engineering technology, environmental engineering, environmental resource engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources and environmental engineering.

For the Full Performance Level you must also have:

Either 1. Two years of professional experience*; OR

2. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in agricultural engineering, architectural engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, electrical engineering, engineering science, engineering science in wastewater, environmental engineering, engineering technology, environmental engineering, environmental resource engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources and environmental engineering AND one year of professional experience*.

*Professional experience must be performing the duties of the full performance level position.
