All salary grades for trainees titles are non-statutory (NS) equated to the salary grade identified. These grade equations apply to the starting salaries in their respective salary schedule for the traineeship levels.

Job Description

Health Care Management Systems Analysts perform health care financing functions, conduct research related to the development and management of health care delivery systems, and work with various groups to develop policy options and recommendations to implement health care delivery system reforms. You would research and propose policy recommendations on Medicaid initiatives such as Managed Care, health insurance coverage, and how to contain health care costs in health care delivery systems while working to protect access to care.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

Minimum Qualifications

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

A bachelor's or higher degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, health administration, health policy, health systems, political science and/or public administration.

Advanced Placement

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have:

Either 1. One year of professional experience in conducting public policy research and analysis in finance; OR

2. A master's or higher degree in accounting, statistics, economics, finance, operations research, health policy and management, health administration, public administration, or business administration.

For the Full Performance Level you must also have:

Either 1. A bachelor's degree in accounting, statistics, economics, finance, operations research, health policy and management, health administration, public administration, or business administration AND two years of professional experience in conducting public policy research and analysis in finance; OR

2. A master's or higher degree in accounting, statistics, economics, finance, operations research, health policy and management, health administration, public administration, or business administration AND one year of professional experience in conducting public policy research and analysis in finance.
