Job Description

Senior Editors of Audit Reports compose and/or edit, and/or supervise the composing or editing of, various fiscal- or economic-related publications of or related to New York State and/or its civil divisions (such as local governments or public authorities), such as newsletters, reports, press materials, Internet site content, correspondence, and/or various other communications materials.  Employees write, edit, proofread, and supervise same, to ensure materials meet standards for presentation, grammar, computation, format, style, usage, and the like.  Employees may conduct staff development, training programs, and consultations.  These positions are located in the Office of the State Comptroller (Department of Audit and Control).

Minimum Qualifications

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

A bachelor's or higher degree; AND three years of professional experience editing or writing reports based on source documents prepared by others.

The 2019 PCO will be open for application from January 18, 2019. To apply for the examination for this PCO Select Job Title you must apply for the PCO examination by February 20, 2019, fill out and submit the PCO Questionnaire by April 5, 2019, and take the PCO written test in April of 2019.
