Job Description

Utility Analysts (Telecommunications) require an understanding of the telecommunications industry, and the application of analytical methods to assist senior staff in the discharge of their duties; also perform under the supervision of a higher level Utility Analyst (Telecommunications), or other higher level staff.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

A bachelor's or higher degree.

Advanced Placement

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have one year of experience dealing with telecommunications (telephone, internet, or video) in one of the following areas: telecommunications policy analysis or review; review of federal and state telecommunications rulemakings; review of telecommunications service quality performance, network reliability, or financing; review of telecommunications systems & services; OR review or performance of telecommunications customer service in a professional or problem-solving capacity.

For the Full Performance Level you must also have two years of experience dealing with telecommunications (telephone, internet, or video) in one of the following areas: telecommunications policy analysis or review; review of federal and state telecommunications rulemakings; review of telecommunications service quality performance, network reliability, or financing; review of telecommunications systems & services; OR review or performance of telecommunications customer service in a professional or problem-solving capacity.
