Resources & Reimbursement Agent Trainee 1, G-13
Resources and Reimbursement Agents conduct financial investigations, determine payment sources, and develop and submit claims for the cost of care of individuals receiving care and/or treatment in State facilities and programs. Employees analyze and evaluate the financial resources of those individuals and their financially liable relatives; develop and/or determine benefit eligibility; Assist, provide information to, and train various parties regarding managing individuals' finances, programs, policies, and procedures; and ensure that the proper administration of the personal assets of individuals. These positions are located in various State agencies.
Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.
Bachelor's or higher degree.
Most employees will be appointed to the Trainee 1 job title.
Appointments to this job title require a two-year traineeship that starts at the Trainee 1, G-13, and advances, after one year of acceptable performance, to Trainee 2, G-14. After one year of acceptable performance as a Trainee 2, employees advance to the Resources & Reimbursement Agent 1, G-18, job title described above. No further Civil Service examination is required for advancement from Trainee 1 to Trainee 2, or from Trainee 2 to the Resources & Reimbursement Agent 1 job title.
Advanced Placement Appointments - For most trainee titles, employees may be able to be appointed directly to the Trainee 2 level or to the Resources & Reimbursement Agent 1 title if they meet certain qualifications. This is known as advanced placement and is at the discretion of the hiring agency. You must have or expect to receive a bachelor's or higher degree by September 1, 2020.
The 2019 PCO will be open for application from January 18, 2019. To apply for the examination for this PCO Generalist Job Title you must apply for the PCO examination by February 20, 2019 and take the PCO written test in April of 2019.
