All salary grades for trainees titles are non-statutory (NS) equated to the salary grade identified. These grade equations apply to the starting salaries in their respective salary schedule for the traineeship levels.

Job Description

As a Standards Compliance Analyst Developmental Disabilities, you would engage in quality improvement, on site/field inspection, survey, and/or certification activities for developmental disabilities treatment, service, and care providers funded and regulated by the federal government and/or New York State.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

A bachelor's degree or higher in audiology, community mental health, education, gerontology, human development, human services, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical education, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, sociology, speech communication, speech/language pathology, or therapeutic recreation.

Advanced Placement

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have:

A bachelor's degree or higher in audiology, community mental health, education, gerontology, human development, human services, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical education, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, sociology, speech communication, speech/language pathology, or therapeutic recreation AND one year of experience in the development, implementation, oversight, monitoring, and revision of individual program plans, or as a service provider in an organization where the primary focus is providing professional services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

For Full Performance Level you must also have:

A bachelor's degree or higher in audiology, community mental health, education, gerontology, human development, human services, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical education, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, sociology, speech communication, speech/language pathology, or therapeutic recreation AND two years of experience in the development, implementation, oversight, monitoring, and revision of individual program plans, or as a service provider in an organization where the primary focus is providing professional services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

o Examples of qualifying experience includes providing professional services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as a Medicaid service coordinator, habilitation coordinator, program planning coordinator, residential manager, registered nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, dietitian, speech-language pathologist, audiologist, and doctor of medicine or osteopathy. Examples of non-qualifying experience would be direct care experience (such as a direct support assistant or mental health therapy aide), developmental assistant, sleepover staff, shift supervisor of direct care staff, activities of daily living assistant, and fiscal auditor).
