Job Description

As an Economic Development Program Specialist 1 (Agriculture), you would apply agricultural business knowledge, training, and experience to provide agricultural economic development services to develop, promote, and market New York State (NYS) agricultural products and commodities.  Incumbents deliver and administer programs and projects that provide technical assistance, business support services, economic development, and marketing and promotion guidance to individuals, companies and organizations in the food and agricultural industry.  The specific duties performed vary by program assignment.  These positions are found only in the Department of Agriculture and Markets.

Minimum Qualifications

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

Bachelor's or higher degree and two years of experience in agriculture, economic development, natural resource management, regional planning, manufacturing or food service fields that include business or program management, domestic or international marketing, conducting research, event planning or coordination, or developing or implementing strategies.
