Job Description

Individuals in this job title collect and analyze information/data, review and prepare audit reports with regard to electric, steam, gas and water utility management methods, practices, and procedures. They review and evaluate utility company records and activities in the following areas: rates proceedings and incentive plans; tariff and/or compliance filings; costs allocations and rate design; cost of service; supply planning; depreciation studies; policy analysis and promotion; system operations and planning; quality of service; promotion of safety; federal intervention policy analysis; federal intervention markets and rates; and industry consolidation.

Two years of experience in one or more of the following activities directly related to the gas, water, or electric industry:
  • Transmission distribution or production planning, design, construction, operation, safety, or certification
  • Policy formation or implementation
  • Revenue requirement determination
  • Cost allocation
  • Tariff analysis and rate design
  • Competitive energy markets
  • Management and operational audits
  • Implementation and evaluation of energy efficiency programs, renewable generation portfolios and green marketing efforts
