Job Description
Individuals in this job title work on engineering or geological projects performing geotechnical, geological, and geophysical investigations to gain information on highway alignments, building and other structural sites, waste disposal sites, construction material sources, groundwater evaluation, and other similar projects. They might also serve as a technical advisor on construction projects and use computer assisted techniques in engineering and geological projects.

Coursework Requirements
60 semester credit hours in geology, geological engineering, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrogeology, physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, atmospheric science and mathematics, 30 of which must be in geology, geological engineering, geophysics, geochemistry and/or hydrogeology.
