Job Description
Trainees receive on-the-job and/or structured training to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to perform at the full performance level a full range of sampling, testing and data collection activities; coordinate testing or research and/or direct specialized laboratory programs. They develop diagnostic tests; produce reagents; isolate, identify and quantify infectious agents and chemical constituents; perform statistical analysis; and maintain and operate laboratory equipment. They serve in a variety of scientific disciplines not limited to: bacteriology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, electron microscopy, genetics, genomics, hematology, immunology, mass spectrometry, microbiology, molecular biology, neurobiology, pathology, radiochemistry, toxicology, or virology.
