Sick Leave Calculator

When you retire, you may be able use the value of your unused sick leave to reduce the cost of New York State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP) coverage. Use this calculator to estimate the value of your sick leave credit. Please confirm your eligibility with your Health Benefits Administrator (HBA).

Additional Information:

Retiree Option Transfer Policy - NYSHIP enrollees with retiree benefits are permitted to change health insurance options at any time once during a 12-month period. This policy allows retirees more flexibility and time to consider personal factors affecting their health insurance option.

Dental and Vision Plans - Dental and vision benefits you may currently be receiving as an employee are not part of your health insurance and do not continue automatically. If you want to continue dental and vision benefits after retirement, you must request enrollment and pay a monthly premium.
