In memo PA94-09 which we sent to you last week, we explained that we will begin mailing Plan information directly to your employees and retirees. By separate mailing later this month , we will send you a list of your enrollees and their home addresses as they appear on the Central Enrollment File. These addresses will be used for the first mailing.
Please check these addresses and update them on the Central Enrollment File by submitting an ADR transaction on the PS-503.1 and mailing it to Blue Cross. (When an enrollee's publication is returned to us because of an incorrect address, we will mail it back to you. Please make sure the enrollee gets the material and be sure to correct the enrollee's address on the file.)
At the same time we mail to your enrollees, we will send you a supply of the publication equal to 20 percent of your enrollment for enrollees who did not receive a copy and for new employees.
Based on our experience with mailings to New York State employees and retirees, we expect a very high rate of success with direct mailings to your employees and retirees, provided that you maintain addresses for your employees on a timely basis.
