We are pleased to announce a new publication called Disability Retirement and Your NYSHIP Coverage. This publication contains important information for NYS employees who have applied for or who have been awarded a disability retirement. It also discusses eligibility requirements to maintain health insurance coverage and how disability status and NYSHIP benefits coordinate with Medicare.
Distribution
This publication will not be mailed to enrollee homes at this time, as it is designed to address a small percentage of NYSHIP enrollment. This publication is only for enrollees who will be applying for, or have already been awarded a disability retirement and it should not be routinely provided to new retirees or other enrollees. We will send you a supply of two copies for your use.
