The Empire Plan is a unique health insurance plan designed especially for public employees in New York State. Empire Plan benefits include inpatient and outpatient hospital coverage, medical/surgical coverage, Centers of Excellence for transplants, infertility and cancer, home care services, equipment and supplies, mental health and substance abuse coverage and prescription drug coverage.

The updated version of On the Road with The Empire Plan booklet for enrollees and retirees of NYSHIP Participating Agencies and Participating Employers is now available. This publication includes contact and claims information for Empire Plan programs and administrators that enrollees should use while they are traveling or when their dependents are away from home. The February 2019 booklet replaces the May 2016 version. Please recycle any old copies you may have on your shelves.
Distribution
We will not be mailing this publication to enrollee homes; however, it is included in the Quick Order packages that can be ordered on HBA Online. We will send you two copies for your use.
