Please recycle any old copies you may have. These rate flyers reflect a provision of the 2012-2013 Executive Budget that changed the way the cost of reimbursing the Medicare Part B premium is shared among NYSHIP participants. This may result in a minor change to the amount deducted for NYSHIP coverage. This change will not result in a Special Option Transfer Period for NY Active enrollees or NY Retirees.
On May 23, 2012 the Employee Benefits Division issued Memo NY12-21, NYSHIP Rate Change Effective July 1, 2012, which shows the impact on enrollee deductions for NYSHIP coverage and explains the change in the law. If you have any questions regarding this change please review the memo, which can be viewed on HBA Online.
