DATE: October 6, 2021
This is a follow up to HBA memo NY 21-13 wherein you were notified of the implementation of benefit and rate changes for employees in the Agency Policy Services Unit (APSU) represented by the Police Benevolent Association of New York State (PBANYS) effective August 1, 2021.
The benefit updates for this group took effect timely on August 1, 2021, but the rate changes were not updated until recently. Affected enrollees will first be impacted in the October 13, 2021 paycheck and will be notified of the delay in the rate change of premium update. Enrollees in the Empire Plan will see a reduction of premium while those in HIP Health Plan of New York (benefit plan 050) will have an increase. There is no change in premium for the other HMOs. Subsequent biweekly premiums will reflect the updated premium amount.
