SUBJECT: NYBEAS Correction Request Panels

Beginning this April you will have access to the NYBEAS Correction Request Panels. Most corrections can be submitted online through these panels instead of sending or faxing correspondence to the Employee Benefits Division (EBD).
Effective April 11, 2003, requests for NYBEAS transaction corrections are to be submitted through the correction request panels. There are a few exceptions where correspondence must still be submitted to EBD.
Keep in mind that you cannot make changes directly to enrollment information on NYBEAS, this is a request process just as it was in the past.
Enclosed is a training information packet that will walk you through the entire correction process from beginning to end. Before you save the correction request, you must change the status from HPND to EWRK as described on page 21 of the enclosed package.
This process will significantly reduce the time you spend creating and faxing letters to EBD. It will also reduce time spent by EBD approving correction requests if accurate transaction information is relayed and comments note that proper documentation is retained at your offices.
