To complete the Injury Details page, the specific Body Parts and the Nature of Injury will need to be determined.
Begin by clicking on Body Parts in the Injury Description box.
Under the Body Part Description, click on the magnifying glass icon.
Enter the 1 to 4 digit Body Part Code, which can be found by referring to the Smart Codes section of this manual, and click the yellow Look Up button.
Or, as shown below, enter the specific body part in the Description field and click Look Up.
Under Search Results, click on the appropriate Body Part Code or Description.
Proceed to indicate what side of the body the injured body part is on by clicking the drop down box in the Side of Body field.
Additional body parts may be added to an incident by clicking on the Plus sign.
Determine which body part is considered to be the primary injury (when multiple body parts are injured) in the incident by clicking on the checkbox under Primary Injury. When finished, click OK.
**Note** When only one body part is entered, Primary Injury checkbox will automatically default to checked.
Once OK is clicked within Body Parts, note that primary body part injured appears under Primary Injury Details.
Next, click on Nature of Injury.
Under Nature of Injury, click on the magnifying glass icon.
Enter the 1 to 4 digit Nature of Injury code, which can be found by referring to the Smart Codes section of this manual, and click the yellow Look Up button.
Or, as shown below, enter the specific nature of injury in the Description field and click Look Up.
Under Search Results, click on the appropriate Nature of Injury Code or Description.
Note that the Nature of Injury Code and Description will automatically populate. If correct, press OK.
Once OK is clicked within Nature of Injury, note that the nature of injury description appears under Primary Injury Details.
Once the Body Parts and Nature of Injury have been selected, the Injury Details panel is complete.
**Note** Only the primary body part will be displayed in the Primary Injury Details box regardless of the number of body parts entered.
Once the Injury Detail page is complete, select the Medical page to the right of Injury Detail.
